What is the SmartWOD “Workout of the Month”?
With the SmartWOD “Workout of the Month,” we publish a new workout every month for what is arguably the fittest community in the world – the SmartWOD community. And we offer three difficulty levels – from beginner to professional athlete.
Normally, there is also a minimal or home version, but in December you should really train in your trusted CrossFit box – because you need proper machines.
By the way: You can easily share your score with us on Instagram and compare yourself with other SmartWOD athletes from all over the world. Every now and then, we also raffle premium codes and goodies among all those who participate. So it's worth it!
What to expect in December: “Chips Don't Lie”
2 rounds for time – easy peasy, right? Your lungs and heart might disagree.
What do you need for the workout?
BikeErg
Rower
Ski Erg
Jump rope
And lots of stamina
You will only have time to take a deep breath during the break between the two rounds – so make sure you use it. The goal is to get about the same time in the second round.
Moritz's tip: Don't overdo it at the beginning, but pace yourself. Choose a moderate pace that you can maintain consistently. Try to do the single unders and double unders without stopping.
“Chips Don't Lie” at different levels of difficulty
Ok, let's get down to business – the workout! Here are the three different levels:
Fitness level: Performance (professionals)
2 Rounds, each for time:
1000m Bike erg
50 DU
500m Row
50 DU
250m Ski
Rest 2 min between rounds.
Fitness level: Fitness (advanced)
2 Rounds, each for time:
1000m Bike erg
50 DU
500m Row
50 DU
250m Ski
Rest 2 min between rounds.
Fitness level: Starter (beginners)
2 Rounds, each for time:
1000m Bike erg
100 Single Unders
500m Row
100 Single Unders
250m Ski
Rest 2 min between rounds.
Which level is right for me?
The jump rope decides this – can you do double unders or single unders?
If you can do double unders, you can choose between performance and fitness – the two levels are the same this month.
If you can do single unders, you will stay at the starter level. The rest of the equipment and distances are the same as for the other two levels.
